Sign up for the unique experience aboard a Catamaran to explore BEQUIA, one of the most delightful unspoilt small islands of the Grenadines; 9 miles south of St. Vincent. It is the largest of the Grenadine islands belonging to St. Vincent and measures 7 square miles. It is an island completely oriented to the sea. Its seclusion has caused it to retain an age-old tradition of boat building and fishing.
Enjoy Bequia's waterfront dotted with boutiques and restaurants. The time ashore is yours to browse.
Continuing the tour you will be able to see close up, a view of MOONHOLE, a famous and rather unusual residential community. See homes set in amazing rock formations and arches as you sail past. Moonhole's unique architectural style is based on the concept of living in harmony with nature (often compared to Frank Lloyd Wright's).
To achieve these goals the Flintstonesque houses are built on sites overlooking the sea. Their primary building materials are local stone, exotic woods, cement, whalebone and treasures of dubious value recovered from the sea.
Once construction begins, the houses tend to evolve on their own. No plans are drawn. Rather, the shape of the finished house is governed by the contours of the land, immovable rocks and trees; thus each house develops a personality of its own.
The tour continues to Petit Nevis where you can see the historic whaling station which is the only one of its kind still operating in the Caribbean. Your Captain will then take you to the best snorkel spots for those who will like to experience Bequia's underwater world.
The tour continues to Princess Margaret Beach for swimming, relaxation and lunch.
Then it is that time when you have to say goodbye to Bequia for the return crossing to St. Vincent to rejoin your ship in Kingstown.
